I designed a mock website for one of my web design classes. It is a retail website selling luxury cat houses & condos for spoiled cats. The style is meant to look polished yet playful. The target audience is cat people who love to spoil their cats. The image pictured features a large hero image on the opening page. The cat draws your eye towards the title as he looks toward it. In addition, there is a transparent image of cat pawprints placed over the hero image to make it look like a cat walked through the image. The navbar features a custom logo with various page links surrounding it.
For our blockquote project, I chose Harry Styles "Canyon Moon" song to pull a quote from. I found a stock image of a canyon and the night sky to fit the theme of the quote. Then, I added a transparent PNG of a moon and positioned it next to the blockquote. This element moves with the blockquote as the page scrolls. I also matched the color of the quotation mark and colored word to the yellow sunset.
Although this design was not part of a graded assignment, it is still one of my favorite designs that I have made so far. I wanted to stick with 70's hippie theme that the song "Sunflower Vol. 6" by Harry Styles has so, I aged the background to make it look like it was from that era. I included a font that matched with the 70's theme and created a cassette tape for the song. The sunflowers on either side tie the design together and create a cohesive and flowing theme.
This was one of the class exercises in my latest web design class. We designed the quote using the blockquote element. Additionally, we inserted a transparent png into the page and used position relative to place it with the quote. Z-index was used to place the image behind the text and a custom quotation mark was created through CSS.
For my latest graphic design class, we created a logo for a mock publication company. I chose Fine Line Publications based off Harry Styles Fine Line album. I wanted to incorporate both the pink and blue featured in his album cover. Therefore, I decided on a minimalistic yin yang symbol of pink and blue. I wanted the FL to intersect in order to create a literal 'fine line'. I like that it is a simple logo that can be seen both small and large yet still effectively portray the company's style.
